Tussie-Mussie

A tussie-mussie is a small bouquet of carefully selected flowers and herbs.

The ancient tradition of the “tussie-mussie” dates back to Victorian England, when the language of flowers or “floriography” and romantic gestures were more than popular.

A tussie-mussie consisted of a small bouquet of carefully selected flowers and herbs. Each flower and herb used in the bouquet had a specific meaning, and by combining different elements, secret messages could be conveyed and deep feelings expressed.

Tussie-mussie became a discreet form of communication for Victorian people in social situations where it was not appropriate to openly express their feelings. It was a subtle and very elegant way to share your feelings with someone special without the need for words.
